Best known for his meticulous attention to detail, John W. Smith transforms the pragmatic design of our Dauntless into an elegant but understated work of art. A hidden refinement lurks in the clean profile Smith created; even still, the construction of this capable folder will ensure it will perform no matter the circumstance.
Made from CPM 154, the blade was made to perform a variety of rugged tasks. Our signature Dauntless details like the three-quarter swedge, bayonet point with fuller, and forward choil have all been incorporated by Smith along with a satin finish to complete the aesthetic.
The combination of jimping on the backspacer with contoured jimping on the thumb ramp provides consistent traction and a visually smooth transition between the two sections. An inside peek at the liner lock construction shows that Smith covertly included jimping on the inside there as well for traction wherever you need it.
Take care of quick tasks with ease and increase reliability due to the liner lock construction which Smith elegantly incorporates into the folder.
Complete hard cuts with a greater balanced knife and increased grip security due to the inclusion of titanium bolsters on both sides. The frame, pocket clip and bolster have been bead blasted to deliver a subtle matte finish.
Smith applied our signature three handle fullers on both sides of the handle to give this Dauntless perfect symmetry.
